Little Owl

Northern saw-whet owl, pencil, drawn from reference. They're one of the smallest owls — small enough to sit in your hand. This one is perched on a branch and looking at me like I've done something wrong. The feather texture took the longest to work out; individual strokes in the direction of growth rather than blended shading. The eyes are the piece — get those wrong and the whole thing falls apart.
